Block FarmVille forever (or until the next Facebook upgrade)

This is the result of my quest to block annoying App requests on facebook.  Each to their own but I don't want to get addicted to Apps where you click things as requested by a bossy computer program in order to tend a pretend farm or improve a pretend castle.  I appreciate that many, many people get joy and amusement from those Apps, but I'd much rather make a pretend farm with Lego and toy farm animals, or make a pretend castle using a cardboard box. (Or spend hours of my life on Pinterest, but I digress...) If you're the same, read on! The 'Block' button is somewhat elusive, so here is the step-by-step guide to find the blighter...

(NB. 'The Ville' is only used in this example because it happens to be the App to which I got requests.  Therefore it is obviously very popular - well done you, 'The Ville'.)

(1) Go to the right hand side of the top toolbar on the blue facebook banner.  Click on the 'down' arrow next to the 'Home' button.  This will bring up a drop down menu - click 'Account Settings'.

(2) Click on 'Notifications' on the left hand side.  Click on the link to the request you've been sent, as shown below:

(3) This will take you to the App page. Click 'View in App Center'. [sic - American sp.]

(4) You are now on the App's page - scroll down ... there it is! Click 'Block', triumphantly and do a little victory dance.

Now you can get to work on your real life toy farm in peace.
